Today we went to visit farms. The 2 farms we visited were the Green Circle Eco Farm and the Oh Chin Huat hydroponics farms. We managed to learn a lot through our tour of the farms and the generous information provided by the farmers, which reinforced our geographical knowledge about agriculture. Although the Eco Farm farmer constantly criticised high-technology farming, we could see the evident change from the old type of farming to the new type of farming. Many problems can be overcome through the use of technology. We no longer have to be controlled by the type of soil or the climate available, and there is resistance to pests. Since the plants are grown in a controlled environment and nutrients are added, we can be assured of high yields
